Why it is important to keep the momentum of life coaching

Many clients starting life coaching start skipping weekly sessions after the first few sessions. Hence, they break the momentum of the coaching process with excuses of other priorities. Why is it important to discipline yourself to maintain training momentum?

For three reasons.

The first reason is

that the principle of use it or lose it it applies here as anywhere else in life. The training process is like the process of getting physically fit. If you work out twice a week, you’ll start to feel better even after the first two workouts. With regularity, that is, boost, your muscles will start to tone up and your endorphins will surely rise. That will make you feel better, so you will want to exercise more. When you start skipping workouts soon after starting, your muscles will quickly weaken.

The life coaching process is mental training. It will make you fit into all other aspects of life: knowing yourself, your goals, values, purpose, vision, mission… everything. If you break regular exercise after the first few sessions, your body will not have the time or opportunity to reap the positive effects. The same applies to the life coaching process.

The second reason is

train yourself to be disciplined. Discipline is vital to success in all aspects of life. If we want to look and feel good, we must discipline ourselves to eat right, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep. Likewise, if we want to have money, we must discipline ourselves to earn it and save it. If we want to have toned bodies, we must discipline ourselves to exercise them regularly. Therefore, if we want to increase our quality, we must discipline ourselves to work through the training process.

The coaching process also holds us accountable for striving to get the most out of it. Assignments, goal charts, consultations are good examples and can only help us grow if we have a clearly set time frame for meeting responsibilities. A clear time frame carries a sense of urgency. The emergency puts us in motion. If you know you have a week to complete a task, you will complete it within the week. If you know you have no time limit, you will never complete it.

The third reason is

that boost in life coaching it will also keep you motivated, because you will see more positive results. If you break momentum, you will break your motivation, progress, and results. A knot in a thread holds the threat together, but it will never make the thread as strong as it had been before the knot broke and bound it.
