Shopping in Toronto: 3 Popular Shopping Destinations

If you’ve ever been to Toronto, you’ll know that the city is a great multicultural mix with excellent shopping opportunities everywhere. Toronto is one of those cities where you can just spend days shopping, and with good reason, it is the largest city in Canada and the commercial center of Ontario. My experience with Toronto was that it is definitely a great place to shop, you can go from store to store with amazing boutiques and great deals on the downtown streets, but you also need a plan of action or you will get tired. I have outlined 3 of the places where I had the best shopping experiences in Toronto.

1. First of all, you wouldn’t be shopping in Toronto if you didn’t visit the Toronto Eaton Centre. The Eaton Center is a huge shopping mall with absolutely incredible deals on designer clothes, great food, electronics, and everything else you need. It is also, believe it or not, Toronto’s top tourist attraction with over 1 million visitors each week. You can get here via the Dundas or Queen tube stations and it’s a shopping trip you’ll love. It’s a busy mall right in downtown Toronto, but you’ll find so many great deals it’s hard to resist coming here. It’s also part of Toronto’s PATH subway network, which is great fun for tourists and locals alike. I bought cool clothes with amazing deals at stores here.

2. Next, when shopping in Toronto, be sure to visit Chinatown in Spadina. Chinatown is a testament to Toronto’s unique multiculturalism, where you feel like you’ve stepped into another country from one block to the next. In Chinatown you can visit great stores with fantastic Chinese culture, try delicious Chinese recipes and, of course, buy many good things at bargain prices. In Toronto’s Chinatown you can buy clothes, paintings, lamps, antiques, jewelry and much more. I would go just to experience the food because the food I ate there is just delicious! Definitely a unique place in Toronto and highly recommended.

3. Third, shopping in Toronto won’t feel right until you visit the popular Kensington Market. This is the place to buy cheap stuff with great deals and rebates. You can find great savings on clothes, costumes, decorations, fine food, furniture, souvenirs and more in this extremely popular shopping region. It really does feel like a Toronto market experience and I enjoyed just walking around and exploring the wide variety of things on display, the rich culture and the essence of a wonderful Toronto shopping district. This place is a wonderful experience.
