poems of our time
Lost in time
It seems we’re lost in time
busy with our trade;
earn money and build towers,
waging wars and harvesting flowers.
What did our old ones do?
in his lazy old life
to give birth to such a generation
of humanity that seems to be
totally lost in time?
=====
SHIPS
just a brief
conversation, during dinner;
Two worlds had turned!
Two hearts, spokes
across a table;
I had a lot of Fun!
Is love,
gold has loneliness;
what unites us?
From above,
He provides for us;
A sweet and perfumed taste!
we approach,
so blindly, moving;
Out, out of sight!
like two boats,
passing each other;
Through a stormy night!

nuwara eliya
Take me back to Nuwara Eliya,
That’s where tea, pears and berries grow.
That’s where the streams drip candy in the spring.
That’s where the morning mist hangs low.
Lead me through the wide open spaces,
That’s where dairy and meat and vegetables grow.
That’s where the neighboring horses snort in the sun.
That is where the flowers bloom brilliantly from its branch.
Get me on the old Piduru-tala-gala,
That’s where the wildlife and the cunning old fox roam.
That is where rocks are carved throughout nature.
That is where true peace reigns calm in our home.
Take me to the lush green plains.
That’s where the birds and the bees and the wildlife go.
That is where the world seems to end in his life.
That is where the beauty of life seems to flow.
[Note: Nuwara Eliya is a high altitude hill station town in the Central Province of Sri Lanka where temperatures are typically cool and where some of the best teas in the world are grown]
