The following simple steps will help solve the problem of leak compression or a pegasus tap rod disassembly.

  • Close the water in the water supply valve. You can generally find them under the sink. Sometimes, you can also find them on the wall behind the shower assembly. There, you can find them in a closet behind a removable panel.
  • However, if there are no closures located for the disassembly of the pegasus tap, you must use the main water closure of the building.
  • Now, open the taps to let the water be drained in the lines before starting to disarm the pegasus tap.
  • Once you have finished with that, remove the tap handle. You can do it by removing the screw and then raising or shaking the handle.
  • Now, loosen the interior contractor with an English key. Once the nut has loosened and removed, remove the stem.
  • With some types of pegasus taps, the rod itself can be screwed in the body of the tap. In that case, you will have to turn it contrary to the clock needles to loosen and remove it.
  • For the disassembly of the pegasus tap, now, replace with a new washer. Take the offspring to your local hardware store or plumbing supplies and choose the spare washer that adjusts correctly.
  • Re -assemble the offspring and assembly of the pegasus tap in reverse order
  • Reopen the water supply and try if there are drips.
