Online advertising: annoying or useful?

Shopping Product Reviews

Page after page search or browse web pages. And in almost every person you go to the side, above or below, something flickers, gets in your way, appears or distracts your attention. What are these annoying little things that we can’t seem to get away from? You guessed it. They are ads! These days, it doesn’t matter too much where you go online, there is always someone trying to get our attention to buy something or read something. So the question is whether or not they really work or are they just a waste of time. Personally, I think they just get in the way. I admit that sometimes I too fall prey to those ads and click.

It raises the question of what comes next? No matter how we look at it, the ads are always going to be there. First it was in newspapers and magazines, then on radio and television, and now it is online advertising that dominates. What will be next? Will we have ads on our windshields or windows and mirrors at home? With the technology we have today almost anything is possible. The next thing people will know is the ad. Maybe clothes or animated garments! And what good is all this? Critics will say it’s just a way for companies to make money.

However, what it is really about is name recognition. Think of the products we all know very well. Like Coke. Everyone knows about it, and of course there are many who drink it. But is it the best soda out there? You are welcome! There are so many brands to choose from that when it comes down to it, you can choose your own perfect drink. So why do you see and hear so much about coke? As I mentioned above. Name recognition. It doesn’t really matter if people choose drinks other than Coca-Cola because as long as Coca-Cola is known to everyone, they will make billions just by being able to flaunt their logo everywhere you look.

As a result, we, the consumers, are left with very little choice as to what is truly the best drink. So, going back to whether online ads are helpful or annoying, I would have to say that they are both. It just depends on which side of advertising you are on and your own personal choices!
