KTM AG, an Austrian company that manufactures sports and touring bikes, partnered with the Bajaj Group in 2007.

In India, KTM bikes have presented four of their models. The first bike to come out of its stable is the KTM Duke 200. The Duke 200 has a liquid-cooled 200cc, 25hp, 19Nm torque engine with fuel injection system and digital ignition giving a mileage of 35kmpl. . This bike has a 6-speed manual transmission with a wet clutch. This bike weighs 136kg and has a 1040mm wheelbase and 165mm ground clearance.

The Duke 390 ABS was launched in 2012. It is powered by a 373 cc, 44 hp, 35 Nm of torque liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection and non-contact digital ignition. The Duke 390 weighs 139kg and has a 1367mm wheelbase and 170mm ground clearance. The bike takes just 2.6 seconds from 0 to 60 kmph of acceleration and has a top speed of 160 kmph.

The KTM RC 200 is an entry-level sports bike that is a low-budget track-oriented two-wheeler. It has a liquid-cooled 199cc, 25hp, 19Nm torque engine with injectors and spark ignition. The bike weighs 147kg and has a 1355mm wheelbase and 178mm ground clearance. The bike has a 280mm disc brake at the front and a 230mm disc brake at the rear. The KTM RC 390 is a super sport bike. The 373 cc, 43 hp, 35 Nm of torque engine has fuel injection and spark ignition. It has a fuel efficiency of 26 kmpl. The RC 390 weighs 159 kg and has a 1355 mm wheelbase and 178 mm ground clearance.

The Duke 200 is priced at Rs 1.36,147, the 390 Duke ABS is priced at Rs 1.87,780, the RC 200 is priced at Rs 1.64,241 and the RC 390 is priced at Rs 2,10,561.

KTM bikes have a tubular frame with inverted telescopic forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. The brakes are 300mm disc at the front and 230mm disc at the rear. The tires are 17 “tubeless on alloy wheels.

The all-digital console on KTM bikes has a speedometer, tachometer, 2 travel gauges, a fuel gauge, a digital clock, and low fuel, low oil, and low battery indications. The 390 Duke ABS and RC 390 have the ABS safety feature.

The competitors are motorcycles like the Honda CBR 250R, the Kawasaki Ninja and the Hyosung GT.

KTM bikes are produced at Bajaj’s Chakan plant. KTM motorcycles are best known for their off-road style and ability.
