How to make your love of lace more comfortable

There is nothing more beautiful than the lace look. Many years ago lace was very expensive as everything was created by hand. With the advent of machine-made lanyards, the cost has become negligible. Due to the low cost and popularity of lace, you’ll find lace in everything from outerwear to the most intimate undergarments and lingerie. There’s nothing like knowing you’re wearing lace panties to make a woman feel sexy. Unfortunately, lace can also be rough and irritating to wear.

Lace will feel stiffer if it’s made from synthetic materials, so try to find lace made from natural fibers like cotton or silk. Silk laces are the best, but they can be quite expensive compared to other laces. However, if you can afford it, you won’t find anything else to feel as good and look as sexy. Especially for intimates, silk lace will not chafe or irritate delicate skin.

If silk lace is too expensive, the next best thing is a good quality cotton lace. This type of lace is usually quite durable and will get softer the more you wash it. Cotton lace can still be expensive, and sadly, it’s harder to find.

One way to get the look of lace without chafing is to choose styles that are trimmed with lace, but where the lace doesn’t touch sensitive areas of the skin. Satin camisoles with lace inserts are an option that looks and feels sexy without irritating the skin. Lace can be lined with soft or sheer fabrics that are still revealing, another option for sexy lingerie.

If you already have a lot of scratchy lace items, there is a way to smooth out the lace so you can wear them more often. Soak all of your lace in a sink or container filled with hot water and plenty of fabric softener. Let items soak for 24 hours. Depending on the stiffness of the socket, you may need to do this several times before the garments are soft enough to wear comfortably. Once they’ve softened, be sure to always use fabric softener when you wash them again.

For lace bras, there are patterns available to sew linings onto the bras. Silk or satin linings feel good on the skin and still look good. If the toe is going to be see through, you can use a sheer rayon mesh. This material is very soft but you can buy it in very sheer fabrics to keep that sheer look.

If you’re a true lover of lace, future purchases should really be made of silk for items that feel the most comfortable. It is worth saving and spending more for the quality you will get. The investment will pay off many times over in the future, as silk lace will look like new for many years to come if properly cared for. There is nothing sexier than wearing a full set of silk lace underwear under your clothes. The only one who knows is you but everyone will notice the smile on your face.
