If so, then there is a good chance that you are also very insecure as a person, although you must be doing a good job of hiding it. Tiredness and insomnia – Feeling tired or spending too much time in bed without falling asleep reflects an escapist mentality which in turn stems from low self-esteem. Sagging shoulders are also indicative of the fact that you do not consider yourself worthy enough.

How to deal with low self-esteem

There are several factors that contribute to low self-esteem ranging from neglectful or uninvolved parents to having a critical peer group, physical or mental trauma, negative thought patterns, and unrealistic expectations. Having said that, it is equally important to keep in mind that self-esteem can be treated, that is, it is something that can be changed, since, after all, it is a state of mind.

Raising self-esteem can take a lot of time and practice, but as long as you’re determined enough to challenge your own thinking and push it toward change, there’s nothing that can stop you. Practicing self-esteem exercises and attending self-esteem workshops are some recommendations that could speed up the process, but ultimately the choice is yours. And when you choose to change the way you think, you not only gain healthy self-esteem but also a world of positivity.
