DSI Console Potential
We all love game consoles. This is very evident if you look at console sales figures in the US, as well as in Asia and the UK in recent years. There have been literally millions of sales. Some recent numbers are that in the last 4 years, Nintendo sold 7 million DS Lite and in the first 2 months in Japan it sold 1 million DSI consoles. By any comparison, these are huge numbers.
We use these game consoles in various circumstances, such as when we take public transport to and from work; while we travel on airplanes, while we relax in our homes and when we just want to pass the time. Due to their extremely portable nature, we can literally take them anywhere, and some people do.
However, these game consoles are slowly moving away from their initial intended use. This is unavoidable. Take a look at what has happened to mobile phones today, since with the new smartphones they call, text, connect to the internet via Wi-Fi, play music, take photos, are personal organizers and have useful applications such as spreadsheets. This is the direction in which game consoles are moving.
The new Nintendo DSI console is the first of these to really take the next step in being more than a console. Yes, you can still play games, and great games. However, they have some amazing additional uses. The DSI includes a calendar that you can use as a personal organizer, setting reminders to get things done. One of the applications is a note board. This is like a blank slate that you can fill in with notes, for example, during a meeting. You can also add multimedia to the note, such as sounds and images, to make it not only more attractive but also more useful.
Another great aspect of the DSI console is that it has WiFi and has had a browser developed with Opera. This means that you can now go online with your DSI and surf the web. Use it to answer emails, make reservations and purchases, and generally stay in touch with your online world.
