The answer to this question is a simple yes. Men have a faster metabolism than women, and yes, they burn a lot more calories than women. However, the difference is modest and both men and women can be very successful at losing weight.

There is a completely logical reason why men have an advantage over women when it comes to metabolism. Men have a higher amount of lean body mass or muscle compared to women.

We all know that speeding up metabolism is one of the key features to lose more weight effectively. The best possible way to kick-start our metabolism is to exercise as much as possible. By exercising, we are putting into action our muscles, which in turn burn our fat. Our body fat is like food for these muscles, so the hungrier they are, the more weight we lose.

Men lose weight faster because they simply have more muscle than women. This means that they are burning calories even at rest so the result is greater weight loss. But keep in mind that men’s metabolism is not much faster than women’s. Research has found that men’s metabolism is 5 to 10 percent higher than women’s metabolism. So, yes, men have faster metabolisms, but they also tend to be more active than women, and research calorie loss in women is 37 percent lower than men’s. But if we put all this aside, women are much more meticulous than men. They are very careful about their eating habits and pay much more attention to what they eat and how much. They also have a bit more time to enjoy their food, compared to women, as women in general have a bit more responsibility than men!

So the only reason men have a faster metabolism is because they have so much more muscle tissue than women. For this reason, men who have a higher muscle-to-fat ratio tend to burn a lot more calories faster and more easily. But don’t forget that a fat man has a slower metabolism than any slim active woman.

Also, when it comes to age there is a big difference. Women’s metabolism slows down with age much faster than men’s. Again, the reason for this is that men have a greater amount of muscle, which remains active even in their late forties, and that is when they start to see considerable weight gain. But even if men have a higher metabolic rate than women, women can increase theirs too.
