Carpet weaving in India
Carpets have a history, belonging to very old times. Now it has become a flourishing industry. It has numerous trends now, and the rugs from different countries are unique in their own pattern. Each country has its own carpet weaving tradition that reflects its culture and standards. India is one of the countries where carpet weaving has a history belonging to the Mughal empires. Quality is judged on the basis of thickness, material used, and color combinations. Kashmir is the territory where the best quality carpets are made. The carpet made in Kashmir contains about 500 knots per square inch. Rajasthan is another important carpet industry in India. Rajasthan rugs have striking colors and patterns, which look stunning and unique. The amazing thing about Rajhasthani rugs is that the manufacturers use camel hair in the making of rugs. Since Indian rugs are made using handmade knots combined with beautiful designs and unique patterns expertly finished, they command great resale value. Their striking colors make them attractive and eye-catching. The carpet industry in India is a huge source of income in the country as it is sold in different parts of the world.
