Build an outdoor grill your way

Real Estate

Building an outdoor brick grill isn’t as difficult as it sounds. It may only consume part of our time, like two weekends in a row, and the cost may also be higher than metal grill. However, it is safe to say that an outdoor brick grill is something that we can use in the long term, which can be worth the effort and money that will be spent. Also, a metal grill really is cheap because its lifespan is expected to be short. It will cost us more if we ask someone else to build the outdoor brick grill for us, but this is no longer necessary because we can do it ourselves. Here are the steps and tips on how to build it:

1. Decide how big the grill will need to be. So we can estimate the number of bricks and the amount of mortar to buy. In addition to bricks and mortar, various concrete and plywood anchors should also be purchased.

2. Decide where to build the grill. A good advice is to build it on a stable surface and never on an irregular one. Another tip is to build a grill that has legs, as this will be very convenient for the user.

3. On the ground, measure out a square about the same size as the grill to be built and place four bricks in the four corners, which will serve as legs. Apply mortar and brick to the legs up to about a meter high. Make sure legacies are built evenly.

4. Cut a piece of plywood that is thirty-six inches longer and wider than the dimensions used for the legs. Concrete anchors can be used so that the plywood is securely attached to the bricks.

5. Two rows of bricks should be laid on top of the plywood. A very important piece of advice is to apply a fireproof mortar for sealing cracks. Otherwise, the embers will find their way into the plywood.

6. The edge of the grill should be caulked with bricks until they are approximately eighteen inches high. Make sure this is done evenly.

7. The last step is to find and purchase a grill with the exact dimensions of the newly built grill.

After following the step-by-step instructions above, we are now ready to try out our new outdoor brick grill. It’s not that hard to build one, is it? In addition, although it costs us to build it, the final product is something that we will really be proud of.
