Shopping Product Reviews

The 1999 Bugatti EB 18-3 Chiron is a prototype car designed by Giorgetto Giuaro on a Lamborghini Diablo VT platform. The name of the car, Chiron, comes from a famous Bugatti racing driver named Louis Chiron. Being a prototype because the Chiron was the only one made.

The Chiron is very aerodynamic because it has bumper-to-bumper curves and has a very low-to-the-ground body type. The Chiron features a rear engine and the storage trunk is at the front of the car. The Chiron is a 2 seater coupe and the interior of the Chiron is pure class as Bugatti used the best materials such as the best leather and wood. Inside the cabin of the Chiron there are two types of leather, which are Blu Pacifico (blue) and Sabbia (yellow). The trunk at the front of the Chiron has a single luggage set that fits perfectly into it.

The Chiron concept car is built from carbon fiber, which makes it very light. The paint color is Blue Cote d’Azur as it gives the car a very sporty elegant look. The Chiron’s traction capabilities are excellent, with permanent 4-wheel drive and 20-inch wheels. Tires at the front are 265/30 and 335/30 at the rear. The Chiron has a 3-stage automatically raised rear spoiler that reduces lift on the rear axle and gives the car maximum traction. Since the Chiron has a low-body design and is made from lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum, it allows for maximum quickness off the line while still having excellent handling capabilities.

The Chiron’s powerful engine is a 6.3-liter 18-cylinder that generates 555 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 186 mph. The direct injection engine has a displacement of 6.3 liters, a power output of 408 kW and a maximum torque of 650 Newton meters. The Chiron’s engine is the same engine that was used in the EB118 and EB218 prototypes.

The steering wheel on the Chiron is a small-spoke model, sitting in front of two large dials and two smaller dials in the center tunnel, where there is a door-open lever mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There are four valves for each cylinder in the 18-cylinder Chiron, so there are a total of 72 valves. The compression ratio is 11.5:1, the bore is 3.00 inches, and the stroke is 2.98 inches.

The Bugatti EB 18-3 prototype looked as good as it handled with its distinctive color and stylish interior design. The performance capabilities of this supercar are second to none as Bugatti created a classic with the Chiron which was first shown at the 1999 Frankfurt International Motor Show.
