Activity for parents and babies 3 – 6 months

Relationship

Your baby can still enjoy the exercises of the first 3 months, but you can also add the following:

o To help stimulate baby’s desire to learn, you should encourage him to touch various items of all shapes, forms, materials, and textures. Give him large, small (but not small enough to fit in his mouth), round, square, long, short, thick, or thin items. Remember, don’t just use toys, use anything from kitchen utensils to fruits. You can also try filling a small plastic bottle with rice, couscous, or peas to make a rattle!

o Sit with your legs straight and lay the baby on your lap on his stomach. You must be able to touch the ground with your hands. Put a hand on her butt or back for some support. Put a toy on the floor in front of him and encourage him to play. This exercise is good to help develop coordination.

o From 4-5 months, your baby will want to see the world from a different perspective, so he will try to sit up. If your baby raises her head a little, it’s an indicator that she wants to sit up. He offers his hands and if the baby takes them, lift him up a bit but not all the way. With patience, the baby will eventually learn to get up on its own with your support.

o Sit on the floor with your legs stretched out. Hold the baby at the waist and gently lift him up, then let him lightly touch your legs with his feet. His legs should begin to bend and straighten in a jumping motion.
