5 things you’ll learn from that old dog at home

Relationship

1.) The simple nature of life, is a dog’s motto!

When your dog looks at you, it is as if he sees right through you. If you are the owner, the look they give you expresses their true happiness. A dog needs nothing more than a comfortable home, food, water, exercise, and a loving owner (who, of course, disciplines the dog and makes him feel mentally balanced). These things are the only things you will need in life, just swap the owner for a mate maybe and add money so you can buy food or water. You don’t NEED that new phone or TV. You LOVE them, which is perfectly normal, but my point is that a dog will teach you to appreciate the simple things in life, just like they do!

2.) Love me and I will love you back.

If you show affection to your dog, he or she will share that same affection with you multiplied by ten. They, out of sheer instinct, follow the simple saying “Treat people the way you want to be treated.” Why don’t you take your dog’s advice and do what he does? Show people love and affection and they will do the same. If you want people to greet you on the street, start doing this and I promise you will get the response you want.

3.) Leave the bad stuff behind and move on.

In most cases, a dog will put a bad day behind him (if, of course, he is not being mistreated), as it is in his nature. If your dog has had a rough day where he was scared of something or lonely, he will most likely recover as soon as his owner shows him some affection. This may not be entirely true, I’m not a dog expert, just a Cesar Milan fan, but I think dogs quickly “forget” some minor bad things as soon as they experience love from owners. This is something humans need to learn to do too, shake off a bad day at work or a tough breakup. Put it behind you and focus on the simple necessities of life!

4.) Learn discipline and respect once, take it with you forever.

Once you correctly teach a dog a rule and consistently follow it, he will take it with him and listen to you about that rule forever. The same should apply to us humans, once we learn something correctly, we should take it with us to the grave. What I mean is that we often forget important things in life, like school subjects or even how to show kindness, which is quite sad but very normal. But it is definitely something we can take into account from our four-legged friends.

5.) Finally, be yourself!

Your dog never cares what other people or dogs think of him, he just lives in the moment and is himself completely. Your dog is who he is in this world and that might be something you should be aware of and learn from your dog. If you accept the person that you are, then life will be much easier to live and you will learn to appreciate life much more. So the next time you look at your dog and think how beautiful he is, remember that you are just as beautiful if you are yourself.
