Are the Hebrew n’filim the cornerstone of all world mythologies and vampiric lore?

Pastors fight, theologians fight, and rabbis debate biblical N’filim. This antediluvian race, a progeny of giants begotten by fallen angels with mortal women is first introduced into Genesis 6: 1-4. It is their existence that caused the flood and their existence is the reason why God commanded the Hebrews to end the extinction of the race under Moses and Joshua. This angelic / divine mixed race is spoken of in all ancient civilizations and appears to be the forerunner of most polytheistic mythology and vampiric tradition. Believe it or not in the Judeo-Christian N’filim, modern society is still steeped in their tales, creating heated theological debates and the most exciting entities in supernatural horror movies. As we explore the N’filim, let’s first look at their Jewish sources, then their vampiric characteristics, and finally their connection to ancient polytheistic religions.

Origins of N’filim

According to Genesis and the Book of EnochSometime between 460 and 1065 years after the creation of man, 200 angels descended to earth and took wives for themselves. These angels taught their wives knowledge that God did not want humans to possess: the art of weapons and metallurgy; the art of incantations and sorcery; the art of cosmetology; the art of abortion; and the art of astrology, signs, and root division. Humanity became corrupted by abusing knowledge for selfish gain and hurting everyone who stood in its way.

The offspring of these angels and women, called N’filim, were giants on earth and turned to humans for sustenance and slavery. Tea Jasher’s Book and the Book of Enoch tells stories of N’filim drinking the blood of mortals and reveling in their corpses. They then began mating with animals to create N’filim entities with a mixture of human and animal body parts. Yet humanity, the race chosen to rule the earth and all that it contains, had become prey and was hunted down and ruled by a stronger mixed race than they. To save mankind, God chose Noah, a man without blemish, with his family and drowned the N’filim and thus the corruptions that plagued His creation.

In addition, the Book of Enoch explains that when the mortal portion of a N’filim died, their spirit was trapped here on earth waiting to be judged with the rest of humanity. Their ghosts and spirits were observed to be of a cloud-like substance and were known to possess and torment humans. These evil spirits and demons were not washed away by the flood and are exorcised by Jesus Christ numerous times in the New Testament.

Were all the N’filim evil? On Genesis 6: 4 says: The Nephilim were on earth in those days, and also later, when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had sons with them. They were the heroes of yesteryear, men of renown. It seems that some N’filim were heroes, and with their biblical presence after the flood, we must assume that God forgave a few either for his justice or for other reasons. Some Jewish myths claim that Noah forgave the N’filim Og who promised to be his slave forever. Others point out that Japheth’s wife (Japheth is Noah’s eldest son) may have been a N’filim since two of Japheth’s sons, Gog and Magog, are later documented in the Bible as being of N’filim lineage.

For whatever reason, some N’filim survived the flood. During the days of Abraham, it is recorded that the giants fought among themselves. On Deuteronomy 3:11 says that: Only Og king of Bashan was left of the remnant of the Rephaítas (Rapha means giant, the Rephaítas are registered biblically like descendants of the N’filim)… Og was defeated and assassinated by Moisés. , but other Rapha (giants) tribes still blocked the way to the Promised Land of Israel. The Bible mentions Goliath and various tribes as descendants of the N’filim, including the Anakim, Amorites, and Assyrians.

Both historical and biblical records relate that humans worshiped a pantheon of gods made up of N’filim and fallen angels. Most polytheistic religions required human sacrifices and drank the sacrificial blood. The Assyrians, descendants of N’filim, were observed to drink the blood of the conquered nations while besieging their next conquest for the purpose of intimidation. Like the hebrews Book of Enoch it includes the records of semi-divine entities drinking blood directly from a human, like many other ancient religions. The Egyptian Sekhmet, the Greek Hecate, the Indian Kali, and the Babylonian demons Lilitu are just a few examples.

In Jewish texts, the post-flood N’filim race has been described as having an abnormally long life span, reaching heights of nine to twelve feet, and having much paler skin than that of mortals. Historically, these N’filim tribes were known to drink blood from skulls, skin live people, and sacrifice babies to demons / gods. Thus, we are presented with a pale, unnaturally long-lived paranormal tribe, known for drinking blood recorded by both ancient civilizations and religious texts.

Polytheistic religions

Did the Hebrew tales of N’filim create the rest of the world’s mythologies? There is a good chance that this will happen. Scholars recognize that Greek gods closely resemble what the Hebrews would call fallen angels who live and have children with mortal women. We still hear stories of Hercules, Medusa, Thor, and other half-divine heroes and villains who survived a great flood. In Norse mythology, great battles were fought between the gods (fallen angels) and cannibal giants before a flood destroyed the giants for humans to repopulate the earth. The Celtic mythology of the Tuatha de Danaan continues this trend and has documentation of their ancestors originally from the Middle East, where the tales of the N’filim were first recorded. In almost all ancient religions there are stories of divine / angel-like creatures mating with humans and / or animals to create their god-kings or a higher semi-divine race worshiped by humans. Furthermore, every ancient religion has evil spirits and demons that torment and possess humans and provide methods of protection against these entities. The Hebrews are the only ones who give a complete explanation of all the supernatural entities documented in the ancient world.

In conclusion, all ancient civilizations and religions speak of these N’filim and their habits of drinking and possessing blood. Each ancient and modern culture provides its own knowledge of how to protect itself from N’filim entities: demons, spirits, ghosts, and vampires. Even today, stories and testimonies of N’filim entities continue to be recorded. It seems that the N’filim still roam the world among us, whether in reality or in legends.
